Hi every one
I moved to AZ about a month ago but would like to keep my car and liscence out of california cause I just apid the registration and dont want to have to pay it again. Is there a problem OCing with a ID that is not arizona, or does the law protect every one in the state? I live in AJ and between the punk ass kids and meth users, I dont like going out at night with out it. Just last night some kids tried to steal beer from the circle k with an assortment of knives. Thats when I wished I would have grabbed my gun before going out. Nothing fancy, just a P85 9 MM. Hopefully enought to keep the punks and tweekers away. Let me know. Thanks

| Yes you can OC with a "Cali" DL just be careful. Also buy a copy of arizona gun laws "http://www.gunlaws.com" so you know where you stand.

| Well i look like a normal person, clean cut, nothing likr the people around here. Also i work for the fire dept. which should help me out if i get stopped. Im guessing if they do stop me they will run me for wants and war., and also run the gun right? If so i have nothing to worry about. I can get a CCW with a cali lisc. right? It states an arizona resident or a US citizen right?

If you want to claim Az, residency, you need to have Az, ID and vehicle registration, and I believe you need to be in state 6 months for that to be valid, but do not take that as for sure and for certain, like another poster said, CHECk all pertinent laws as IANAL. BTW, welcome to the land of the FREE and congrats on escaping the P.R.O.Kommiepornia. Be safe, and always remember with tweakers, 2 to the body, 1 to the computer, and you should be ok. Never shoot to kill, Always shoot to survive. Just my 2 cents worth, that's more than ANY tweaker is worth anyway............
Bye now

Never been stopped for OC, just speeding, I told them I was carrying and they were cool. No need to run the gun Sn# As for the the CCW with the cali license, well I doubt that. You have to be a resident to get it. Utah, does not require you to be a res to get a CCW I believe. Check out the AZDPS site to find out more.

Welcome to AZ. You don't need to be a resident of the state to get an AZ permit. The only restriction as to state is that you can't use an out of state permit in AZ if you are an AZ resident.
Off topic... I would be careful about not registering your car here though. They (MVD) will occasionally run big dragnets for that kind of stuff- I know they have gone through my apt complex once or twice, they also hit the big employers as well. It's not frequent, but it does happen occasionally.

If you are now a resident of AZ, you have 10 days to change your license and registration. Failure to do so could result in civil citations (tickets).
OC is perfectly legal and widely accepted here, just know the laws

If you are living here, it is a good idea to get an Arizona ID. However, there is no law requiring you to carry ID unless you are driving a car or you are carrying concealed with a permit. Just walking down the street and/or carrying openly does not require you to carry ID. The police want you to believe we live in a country where you have to carry and show your papers but legally, if you are just walking, you don't need any ID of any kind at all. I would recommend it, though, just to avoid additional hassles.
