TUCSON
Foothills Mall is posted no weapons in really tiny print- not conspicuous at all.
MVD on Broadmont has gun lockers- you must check your weapon
ORO VALLEY
Northwest Oro Valley Medical Center will check your weapons for you at the security office but you must completely unload it before signing it in.

Park Place mall also is posted in very tiny print at each door on a huge sign with massive amounts of other information..."no firearms"
I was escorted out the other day by security. I made it to about three stores before i was approached. The man thanked me for being so understanding and we had a descent little talk. They seemed pretty cool about it.

Hmmm, I haven't noticed a sign banning firearms in the Park Place Mall because I usually enter the Mall thru Sears or Borders. I usually CC there.
I'll check it out and if PP is posted as such, I'll have to cancel a few credit cards that I use at PP Mall and shop elsewhere.

Yep, I saw those signs posted at the Mall entrances, outside and inside the entrances this morning.
Under Code of Conduct: "No firearms or other dangerous items".
So I suppose wooden baseball bat, hammer, paring knife, box cutter, broken glass, ice pick and clenched FISTS all fall into that group!
I spoke with a Mr. Jim Heilmann, Senior General Manager of General Growth Properties, Inc (GGP) which is headquartered in...................Chicago! Hey, what's good for Chicago is good for the rest of America, eh?
GGP also owns Tucson Mall and a Mall in Sierra Vista, so the gun restriction also applies there. I don't remember if he mentioned Foothills Mall.
Heilmann told me that Sears, Macy's and Dillard's are not considered to be Mall property therefore gun ban signs are scheduled to be installed at Mall entrances leading from those three stores. I have not seen any "no firearms" postings at those three locations or at Borders Books.

| Walmart in Casa Grande and the Wholefoods in Tempe. I have never had so many stares cast in my direction than in these 2 stores. Some good questions from a couple of people, but those evil menacing stares, I feel dirty, I need a shower just thinking about it!

dreamcro,
When they give you "The Stare" just look at them and smile at them, it blows their minds, oh and if you are wearing a hat, tip it, they might even wet themselves for you, well worth the show.

These reactions can sometimes be a form of entertainment. For instance, these coffee houses tend to be places liberals and bleeding hearts like to hang out. It is kind of funny noticing a man stirring his coffee while his eyes are casually moving across the room and as soon as they happen to line up with my gun, suddenly, he "jumps." Literally, I will see a quick muscle twitch indicative of someone who is suddenly startled by something they do not expect. These men will tend to have deer-in-the-headlights facial expressions where the mouth is permenately fixed open wide, the eyes are bulging out, and they visually communicate that they don't know what to do other than stand there scared. The women tend to convert from the scared or shocked look to the sad puppy-dog face. They will tend to look away for awhile and have their hand over their mouth as if "this is the end" and sooner or later their eyes literally start to fill up with tears. Just recently, I was chatting with an employee about firearms and he was telling me about the guns he owns and this was while I was carrying openly. One of these scared ladies who appeared to be from Chicago or one of those places started getting teary-eyed. I swear if she said something rude or obnoxious, I was going to refer her to the women's room so she could see what a mess she was looking like. "Lady, do yourself a favor and go look in the mirror."
If people wonder why I carry a gun, now I have another reason and that reason is safety from the unknown nuts in the world. These people pretty much give me a reason to carry. If men are getting scared jittery and women are about to breakdown into tears over the mere sight of a man carrying a handgun, we are in a society with more than a healthy share of mental cases.
Q: "Why are you carrying a gun?"
A: "To protect myself from anomolies like you."

Seen a few of those in Walmart that day. Just after my last post went to Circle K to gas up the bike. Bunch of gangster youths in a low rider were next to me at the pump. I heard one of them say over the thumping "music" for lack of a better term. " Ya think dat white boy is finnin to hold up da place?" I rode around to the side of the pump they were on and said " I don't fit the stereotype, but you boys might." Then I left.

oops! I was just in there today buying some tinted goggles for riding. Had my Sig p226 on, had no idea and no one said anything.
Yep, there's a little sign next to front door, on the left. Unless that sign has been removed!!
It appears that it has been removed. I was in there today, and because of this thread, I looked all around the entrance, and could not find any signs at all about firearms. I didn't ask, and I was carrying concealed, so I don't if we can call that confirmed or not. I just know that there definitely was no sign there today.

I was always under the impression that weapons were not allowed in Tempe Market Place.
Of course, I've only been there once and I carried concealed so I don't know for sure!

PROTECTOR:
Like you I am not an Atty, and don't give legal advice, I can sometimes pose a question that causes people to just think about something a little different.
Near the end of your posting you give your feeling about the ATF/FBI concern. If I were an ATF agent, how concerned do you think I'd be about one guy carrying OC, when I know it is rare for a BG to OC? How concerned do you think I'd be about ONE gun? Does my superior "get-off" and celebrate if I were to bring in ONE gun? On the same day he sees one guy OCing, a gun shop has just been burglarized for 1,000 Glock, Mod. 22, doe he care about you?
FOR THE AGENT, WHERE IS HIS PAYOFF? ONE GUN?

When did this happen? Why has this happened? Men? These androgenous, slack-jawed, metro-centric, latte suckin', Birkenstock'd, effeminate WIMPS who look (and smell) like a walkin' laundry bag on feet call themselves MEN?
No wonder I still get a smile (or actually hit on) from women half my age. MEN? They wouldn't know which end of the horse the oats go in... much less the mechanix of a hand gun.
Guns are BAD...
I never go to Starbucks, etc. I drink COFFEE... Not somethin' that takes me 30 seconds to say... in Italian.

Home Depot supports OC and CC.
while I was employed with them i had a chance to ask a UPty Up and about carrying .
he stated that hom,e depot supports law abiding citizens carrying in their stores where the law allows. i never had an issue at any of the HD s in mesa or chandler
make sure we write these businesses and state that we will remain loyal customers and refer them to everyone we meet, for them supporting the 2nd amendment

Went grocery shopping tonight at Frys Food&Drug out in Surprise tonight OC'ing (the one on Waddell Rd near the sonic) without any negative incidents. The young man bagging my groceries actually asked me what I was carrying and we chit chatted for a little bit about shooting/hunting.
Also the CobbleStone, and now Dunkin Donuts, at Bell and West Point Parkway have never cared when I walk in OC'ing. In fact it spawned a conversation once with an employee there who turned out to be a fellow shooter.
