Sounds like officers appearing as witnesses have no business carrying a gun. Perhaps the defense should ask the officers testifying if they have a gun and suggest that they are incompetent witnesses since they either are not party to the court proceedings or they are felons and therefore not competent witnesses.

Witnesses are not partys.

So in theory once you get past that little "government building" thing, you should be able to open carry in a court room, as long as you're not a party.  How cool would it be to take the witness stand open carrying.

You also have to get past that little "required to be open to the public" bit. So if you were attending a secret tribunal not held in a government building, you could OC on the witness stand if you weren't busy being water boarded.:D

Trial supposed to start at 8:45 a.m.

Your post was at 8:50 a.m.

Probably getting the preliminary BS out of the way before getting things started.

Well, it is now after 11:00 a.m. and still no updates.  Anyone in there with texting capabilities?

I'm at the courthouse. I came in just in time to hear what I believe was the closing argument from the prosecution, which goes to the "reasonably should've known" part of the law.

Sorry couldn't get here sooner, but this week has been busy.

Any further update?

Is the trial continuing on Monday? I so I will be there for the day. If any one wants to go with me from San Diego or along the I5 let me know and we can carpool.

Also, any special instructions on parking or how to get there as I am not familiar with Alhambra?

I suppose I'm not surprised. Hang in there, bud. I'm putting a couple more pieces of silver in your war chest.

Do you need someone to transfer your firearms to? Or is that already taken care of?

So, during voir dire (jury selection), were the potential jurors questioned about personal gun ownership, NRA membership, etc?

And were potential jurors excused if they had anything more than a high school education?

I believe once you have been convicted of a Felony you can't have possesion of or firearms in your home.

He was convicted of a misdemeanor, but one which carries a 10-year prohibition on firearms possession, unless his conviction is overturned. So he has to transfer all of his firearms to someone else. If his conviction stays, he can own guns again Nov. 7th, 2019.

What a @#$%ing joke. Total bull@#$%. What the @#$% is wrong with this @#$%ing state and these DAs who are wasting Theseus' time and money, wasting our tax money to prosecute and now imprison him. And what the @#$% is wrong with these jurors who are found a man guilty when he didn't violate the @#$%ing law. Total crap.

On a non-cussing note, any plans to appeal? I'll be throwing a 900 dollars more behind you (plus 900 dollars more from my employer matching) if you are.

Persecuted by a traitorous DA and judge who conspired to force a jury to disregard the common law, rewrite the penal code, and violate the Constitutional rights of a law-abiding gun owner.

There will, and there must be an appeal. And there must be capital punishment for these traitors or this will happen again and again and again.
