I'm sure most of us already know, but D.C. vs Heller is the most important 2A to come before the court since... maybe ever.  According to SCOTUSBlog, http://www.scotusblog.com, the opinion will be released tomorrow. Let's hope that Scalia is writing the majority opinion.

Yes, the daily action starts at 10:00 ET.  Today, 4 decisions were issued between 10:00 and 10:40.  Decisions for the 3 remaining cases of the term will be published within a few minutes of 10:00 ET tomorrow, according to http://www.scotusblog.com/wp/ .  This web page will have an automatically refreshed window tomorrow with virtually live updates as the decisions flow.

Oddly... this thread stopped.  As for Scalia... WHOOHOO!

In the Heller case, Justice Scalia wrote:

“Nowhere else in the Constitution does a ”right“ attributed to ”the people“ refer to anything other than an individual right. What is more, in all six other provisions of the Constitution that mention ”the people,“ the term unambiguously refers to all members of the political community, not an unspecified subset... The Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms... The very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it ‘shall not be infringed’.”

The milita argument has been buried... permanently. That's "the unspecified subset"  Note:  "All Instruments that constitute bearable ARMS!" This goes beyond handguns... which most people seem to think of.  ARMS! "the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right" The inalienable RIGHT that Americans are born with. The declaration...: 'Shall not be infringed'... Pretty straightforward and clear English.

YET>>> The DC tyrants stuck on stupid issued this statement...

Here's what Mayor Fenty (D-DC) said 'bout  a half hour of the Courts decison:

"The Mayor, Attorney General and Chief emphasized that the Supreme Court’s ruling is limited and leaves intact various other laws that apply to private citizens who would purchase handguns or other firearms for home possession. First, all firearms must be registered with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Firearms Registration Section before they may be lawfully possessed.  Second, automatic and semiautomatic handguns generally remain illegal and may not be registered. Third, the Supreme Court’s ruling is limited to handguns in the home and does not entitle anyone to carry firearms outside his or her own home. In addition, although the Court struck the safe storage provision on the ground that it was too broadly written, firearms at home should be kept either unloaded and disassembled or else locked except for use in self-defense in emergencies."

[size=+0]What part of 'SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED' don't they understand?

'Third, the Supreme Court’s ruling is limited to handguns in the home and does not entitle anyone to carry firearms outside his or her own home." :what:WHAT!

"Limited?" The Decison encompassses the ENTIRE United States! The Decison covers bearable ARMS... in general.  Reading comprehension must be in short supply in the DC government.  'Must be real short among the MSM as well.  They shoud'a had a field day with this 'utterance' by the DC muckety-mucks.  I can't see why the US Atty General don't send US Marshalls to arrest the lot of them.
