I'd love to take one of the better CCW classes that last all weekend and teach lots of tactical stuff ... BUT ... I don't have much time or money to put into that right now and I'm looking to get the minimal required training I need to get my CCW. On the cheap.
Anyone an official NRA instructor who could provide me with that? (In Colorado Springs.) Or, does anyone in the Springs know of such a bare-bones course I'm looking for?

I'm looking as well. I already have my CHL from Florida, but when I move to Colorado Springs next month I am going to have to get one again because Colorado doesn't honor a non-res permit. It's just going to be a big pain in the ass. Getting a deal on one would sure be nice.

I highly recommend Dan Brunner at Personal Defense Institute at http://www.thepdi.org
Affordable, comprehensive and lots of "real world" scenario discussion.

Not sure how inexpensive you need, but Whistling Pines offers several different levels of classes, so you can add to your education as you're able. You can google them or other classes and find gobs of information. I don't work for the range and am not a member, but I'm looking serioulsy at taking some of their classes.

Sweet! Whistling Pines lets you draw and shoot from a holster! Not many indoor ranges let you do that.
