Hello all,I'm a newbie from St.Augustine Fl.I just signed the petition, and I had my wife and mother in law sign also.
What is the latest on this effort?Who is in charge here, and what can I do personally to help? Thanks to all who started this noble cause, lets not stop until we have legallized the second amendment!

As of August 31 2008,at 13:00 the count is up to 1761 signed.I am a member of the United States Concealed Carry Association,I will post a link on their discussion forum to help boost the numbers.USCCA has a membership count of around 17000,lots of good folks over there, and lots of Floridians also.

Any chance we can get a copy of that flyer? I'll deliver copies to all my local gun stores and shooting ranges, in the St Petersburg, FL area.

Getting the word out and informing people is the most important thing we can do right now...

I just came upon this site and I think it's very interesting. Living in Fl. all my life I would personally look forward to the time that I could OC. I have a CWP now but it's kinda hard in the summer months to conceal a weapon all the time and even if it took more permits and perhaps even some sort of small badge that could be placed on the holster for OC I would be in favor with that. That way it would show all and especially LE that you have a license to OC and that way not just anyone over 18 or 21 could carry openly. To also have an outward sign that you're legal to OC would or should mean a lot less hassle on us and less stress on LE Officers. Crime is getting no better and if more or we legal ones could carry openly then I whole heartedly believe that crime would drop greatly here in Fl. I firmly feel that more guns in the time we live in is more security for all of us since there will never be a time in which all guns are off the streets. The bad guys will always have a gun and it's up to us to protect ourselves from them since LE can not be every where at all times.

Are you guys ready to organize a small working group to get the FL OC effort moving? Can we raise a few thousand for radio ads?

Just a note to say I've written to every elected official in Florida to help bring about open carry in Florida. I hope everyone else in this state will do the same.........
