I didn't see any fliers at the last couple of gunshows I attended, can we get a PDF up so we can print them out and hand them out or at least put them on the tables with the fliers of upcoming shows

Goahead and make one and post it here - there have been various fliers used by various state open carry organizers.

I have my name in the list and have sent this site to all of my friends in Missouri as well.  God willing and the creek don't rise this passes.  I have a CCL and it is a pain in the ass trying to "conceal" anything larger than a .22 in the summer months here.

I am bumping this older thread with a purpose and apologize if it is out of line folks.
I have also emailed the person for the petition website listed here as well as a sister website of it as well. I think the same person.

Trying to find out where they are with electronic signatures. Has anything been done with those signatures. Where are they with this issue and their organization here in Florida.

I have been chatting with some folks down in the Florida section and trying to pull together a core group of folks and work this issue in Florida.

Florida has always been an oddity.  But in the last 4 years it has really turned Statist.  It is hard to find a person who doesn't beg for slavery here.  Florida pioneered CC, and proved it valid.  But if you were to try it in today's environment, it wouldn't even come close to passing.

OC?  Forget it.

While it is easy to view my words as discouragement, and in a way, that is true...  My intent is to convince people to put their efforts into something that actually has a chance.  OC in FL is about as likely to happen as juggling smoke.  If CC hadn't been done almost 30 years ago, it would never happen now.  You honestly think OC is going to happen?

Bomb Florida off the map.

Yes, I hate Florida.  I hate Living here, and I hate the direction it is heading.  I hate everyone I've ever known here.  It is a freight train.  If you want to step out in front of it, well, that's your choice.  But it is a waste and won't even slow Florida down on its path to becoming worse than NY, CA, NJ, MA, and IL combined.  Mark my words.  In 4 years more time, Florida will lead in being the most anti-freedom, overbearing police state in the country.  It is going RAPIDLY in the opposite direction.

If you want to OC, and have any freedoms at all, LEAVE.  Invest your time, money, and SELF into a State that is worth a damn.  Florida is a lost cause.

Good luck - that petition founder has sort of gone silent - I spoke to him once but he did not want to talk to news media or be publicly known - I hope he will turn teh project and email list over to somebody from FL to head up this important effort soon.

Thanks Mike. I have not gotten a reply as of yet. I will give it a little more time. If there is no reply, I guess I will start that part of my efforts from scratch.

OK.. so as of today no response from the owner of this website. I guess the petition is officially dead and the signers lost at this point in time. A new petition and a new effort is needed. I am actively working on this and will keep the community informed in the very near future as to what I am doing.

Hey, fight the good fight Rebel.  Maybe your state and my beloved Texas will one day enjoy freedoms and rights that the founders laid out for us.  I wish you guys the best of luck.  I know it won't be easy.

Hey Gruu!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it will be an uphill battle of that I have no doubt. But one worth the effort.

Y'all in Texas are doing some good work and I think if you keep the effort up it will pay off. Check out candidate for governor Medina. I think I saw where there was a bbq somewhere she was going to attend that would be OC as well. Pretty sure that thread was up in the Political or general discussion threads.

Are you actively involved in the Texas OC movement? Would be great to get to pick your brain over some of the more tactical issues of how that movement is going etc.

Best of Luck to all you in Texas.

OK, if you do do a petition, much care must be taken to figure out how to manage the petition and to p[ost an admin notice to explain why folks should leave their email addresses and to not leav more than choices for city and state - otherwise wise acres will post foul langauge - email me if you have questions.

Would any one be willing to start another petition for OC in the great state of Florida? I will be relocating to the FREE STATE of New Hampshire (where OC is legal with out a "permit") soon as a "Free Stater" and would like to sign the petition before I give up residency in FL.

Rebel, I'm in Port Richey, are you near enough we could drop a few rounds at the range and discus the petition?

How do I sign the petition? One more question. Has crime increased or decreased in open cary states?

I just keyed onto the website that has the open carry petition on it. When I tried to send my vote. A message came back saying that the site I was trying to contact did not exist. Have you ever been in a card game and had this feeling that the game was rigged? I do believe that the right to carry openly, is just that. Politicians are famous for saying one thing and then doing the other. In otherwords, lying. Thanks to the average voter who has the attention span of a two year old. That's how they win elections. Ask Barak Obama.

On the internet and when speaking to an NRA group. They'll support open carry and the right to carry concealed and self protection. But when in front of an anti-gun group, they'll say just the opposit.  I don't know about you, but I'm damn sick and tire of these people who are void of honesty, integrity, and loyalty to the voting majority. If this country has any chance at all. It has to be with the election of third party candidates. Men and women who believe in one thing and one thing only, the United States Constitution. And not what they'd like it to say, but what it actually does say.

I could go on and on, voicing pretty much the same opinion as you. My wife, kids and I moved here in 1989. It was the second biggest mistake I ever made. How one big swamp and one big ant hill can exist in the same place is beyond me. I will not continue, only to say I agree totally with your assessment. I've finally talked my wife into moving. So when the housing market turns around, if it ever does. We're out of here. We moved here inorder to enjoy our later years. This was suppose to be our paradise. We were never so wrong.

I llive in NW Florida, it's NICE here...few headaches...few illegals...all the benefits of Florida without all the crap of the Southern End.

The downside is that if you don't work for a major corporation, the pay sucks.

The petition site is working. I had people sign up yesterday and they told me as soon as they did it showed their info to the left and gave them a mag pouch offer on the right.

For those that couldn't sign on, try it again, should work.
