Would anyone be willing to help make a one page pamplet to give to people about OC and opencarry.org? I think it might help during confrontations with people and it would be nice just to give to people who you might want to invite to check out the site. I know there are officers that I see while working on a regular basis and many of them are great guys...it would be a good way to invite them to the discussion and get their input as well. Let me know what you think.

i think that is a brilliant idea, and a very professional touch to just saying "go check this out" or "open carry is legal without a license even" or the famous "no, i am not a cop"
i am all for assisting in this project.
would it be about opencarry.org specifically, or also about OC and its reasons

I would say about OC a bit, and maybe a bit about opencarry.org as well. The point is to give someone more than the usual explainations; people don't retain much from a small conversation and I doubt you'll change too many minds from one chat. This way they'd have a way to follow up on what you said and if they're interested they can learn something or get involved. I would go as far as sending a pamplet with a nice letter attached to the different police forces in the area, giving them notice of our group and inviting them to participate in discussions. Just brainstorming.

Indianaboy,
This is right up my alley. I make forms and stuff for a quasi-living and am not too shabby at design and layout.
When we meet up on Sunday, remind me about this and we can put something together. I can make flyers in .pdf format for web distribution and downloading for local printing. I don't have a file server, but OCDO works for this instance.

Sage, photobuckety.com has free picture hosting. Thats what I use all the time - no problems for me.
Only time I've heard of peoples pictures being censored is when they were uploading porn - but I don't think that will be a problem with pictures to post on OCDO.

Sure, bourneshooter, I/we can use that as well. And are you sure it's photobuckety?
I always thought it was photobucket...

Oh, and I just remembered that Oleg Volk (owner of THR) gives permission for use of his pro-gun photos so we can think about incorporating some of those into our flyer.

Sorry, my spelling F/U was really bad last night. No explanation or excuse. It just sucked.

Glad you guys are interested in this... I've seen a few similar ideas on other states' forums. I'll try to look some of those up and we can brainstorm some ideas when we get together this weekend.

Also, just as a side note, I've been browsing through the other states. AMAZING how good we have it here....though I knew that before I moved. It's nice that here we usually are only testing private places, not government. I have yet to read a terrible account of a police stop here in Idaho. I suppose the only danger to having it so good is getting lax in our protection of that right.

Come on guys, get with the program, i want to have your completed pamphlet before I arrive in may.
Seriously though its a good idea especially for visitors like me, I already have copies of the Pa and VA pamphlets just to be as safe as possible, So I'd apreciate seeing your as well for Idaho.
Keep up the good work, I so enjoy reading of your guys OC experiences, Id love to do it here but I might scare the great unwashed, and we cant have scared civilians running around now can we?

Worse than scaring someone, you might get arrested! It's nice to know that in Idaho you can still be an equal among men.
Can't wait to meet you when you come for a visit. Maybe you'll show me around when I come to your neck of the woods?

It would be my greatest of pleasures, but if you want to bring your gun you got to give me about 2 years notice so i can get the paperwork going !

Two years?
How about I just borrow one of yours!
(The soon to be wife and I will eventually go to Ireland for our Really Truly Official Honeymoon(TM). Hopefully it won't be too long.)
And we talked a bit about the pamphlet tonight after the shoot and we've got a good direction to go. Corsair and Indy and I will be putting our heads together (hopefully not making a hollow clunking sound in the process) and come up with something fairly soon.

If we can set the end of January as a deadline for the OC Pamphlet, I can get us something going with positive media coverage in februarty.

| End of January sounds doable to me. I've got a few ideas on layout... just need a bit more input into the main thrust of the pamphlet and some wording.

I have professional studio gear and most of the high end software and hardware to produce the pamplet layout.
let me know if you guys want more help and Ill be availble to assist.

Oh I like that idea so much ~ This is ireland not the USA, here if you get a license for ONE firearm you have beaten the odd's.
Hell recently I tried to license a Walther G22 .. an itsy bitsy little old .22 semi auto rifle. They refused the licese, can you guess why....
Wel it's black so it looks like an Assault Rifle, so you cant have it !
Go Figure .... anyway I probably wont be getting an Ar anytime soon

Ironsight, just move here to Idaho. We could use some more people like you. Plus I'm sure we could scrounge up an AR for you to borrow until you bought your own.
