.40 S&W -------Corbon powerball 135 Gr

Why this load?

Poor mans balistic Gelatin....Fill several buckets with the EXACT same amount of newspaper, layered exactly the same in each bucket. Fill each bucket with water to top, sit over night. In the morn. all water is absorbed into each bucket and paper swells(the paper will not dump out when bucket tipped) Cover each bucket wiyh a T-shirt and a pair of jeans(goodwill store) Shoot JUST 1 round of each type into the center of each bucket from the same distance.

NOW THE COOL PART  !!!!!

As you remove the layers of paper, the hole does not shrink but gets bigger with each layer removed as slug mushrooms, also the shock rings stay as well. You will notice the rings height as well as diamater and number of rings increase as more layers are removed giving you a visual example of shock.

When you reach the slug you will know exactly how deep, expansion, shock generated etc. The proof As they say is in the pudd'in.

I have spent HOURS doing thease tests and DAMN !!! the Corbon Powerball makes the rest of them look like 380 rounds. It allways penetrates 6-9 inches deeper than the others and the recovered size is allways HUGE, Also has 2 -3 more shock rings extending to the edge of the bucket. Dont believe me? Try a few of your rounds against powerball and see for yourself. Don't take my word for it. The test materials are cheap,(less than $25.00) and you will know for sure.

By the way believe it or not the next best performer was the Winchester Silvertip.

Yea, I was suprised by the difference in the bucket between all the .40 rounds. Also the bucket couldnt tell 9mm from .38 . And the shallowest with the least amnt. of shock was the heavy 45.s . Wierd huh?

FIRM believer in the .40 after the bucket tests and Love any thing from Springfield. Want a Springfield Socom REAL BAD !

Yea I'm a SA Fan myself. They've never let me down on Customer Service, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who actually HATES Springfield :uhoh:.

I too would love to own a M1A but MAN they are high $$$$

If I were to get one it would have to be the M21 Tactical or the m25 Whitefeather. If you plan on using it as an Assualt Rifle I think your wasting your money. It kicks like a mule, and is hard to be quick and accurate. Much tougher than AR.

I was in P.C. Fla a while ago at Sarges Flea Mkt at "THE GUN SHOP" and He had a whole rack of M1A's for around $160.00 . All were used and slightly beat up (cosmetically) But were  in perfect working order, should have gotten one.

WHAT !?!?!?

Are you sure ?

Are you aware of how much they cost ? the SOCOM starts at $2,100 and the regular Standard M1A is going for around $1,700.

And your saying $160 ?

He'll I would have bought as many as I could have carried out.

My XD is 9mm.  Being new to shooting when I bought it, I liked the idea of 16+1.

The XD(M) in 9mm holds 20+1 IIRC, but I ain't got another $600 bucks to plop down.  The wife has decided it's time to repaint and such.  My eyesight must be bad because the old paint looks fine to me.;)

I am a big believer in using the biggest, most powerful bullet you can handle. I use a .45 right now but wouldn't shy away from a 10mm. I just don't own one. Me personally, I wouldn't go near a 9mm or 380 for defensive purposes. Too small, too little energy.
