State Police issue non-res Pistol Permits, as they're called. They have no ax to grind and are fair, unlike many local cops for resident. If you have a CCW from any other state, you can get the non-res. I've had both resident and non-resident permits in the PDR. If a resident, where you live makes a world of difference--in Middlesex county, a hassle. In Norfolk county "pick it up next week." Non-res, generally pretty fair. You do need a good reason for a Class A, however. Class B is much easier to get, generally. The main difference is Class A allows for high capacity--over 10, mags.
