Yup so I finally put it in. Didn't really talk to the officer fingerprinting cause I didn't feel like getting lectured and wanted to get my paperwork in without any trouble from him, after he shut down the firearms permit for the week I started talking to the guys in line. Wanted to see what they think about Ms definition of 'concealed'.
Basically they all agree with me but they didn't seem to give a crap about carrying it openly on them. 3 of them were renewing and have "never carried it on my since I got the permit 4 years ago". They (4 of the 5) basically said "Well if I need to some day in a dark scary place I can carry it, otherwise I don't need to." Don't know about the 5th cause he wasn't really discussing it.
Tried to spark up a convo about open carry, but they weren't that interested and didn't really seem to want to. but all agreed the "Carrying it on a throng around your neck can be concealed" was a bunch of crap. Didn't seem like they felt it was nessicary to carry it unless they feel threatened.
Now I may be wrong, they may just be going along with the conversation and not want to give 40 people [PACKED for regular DMV stuff, glad I was in the "government buisness line, only waited an hour. Some guy picked a number went and got a root canal done and was still over 20 people back when he got back] any idea that they were going to open carry or CC, so I can understand that. Just didn't really get far with OCing and what not.
Now time to wait for the permission slip before I go out and "CC" in Ms since I don't have the cash to fight for OC in the court system I can carry it "concealed" per Ms court law

I wore my OC holster (empty) when I took my wife and nephew to apply for their permission slip and it seemed as though the officer doing the fingerprinting was much more pro OC than any of the applicants and although I can't remember exactly, he said something to the point that we (as in citizens of Mississippi) have the right to OC without the permit, I tried to take this part of the conversation further but was unable to because of others asking questions.
I even had one older gent tell me that it was illegal for me to carry my weapon in my CMV (he saw my shirt with my co. name embroidered on it)...There were many myths floating around that office.

Yep, there ARE a lot of myths floating around out there.
The sad part is, it's intentional. Most Amerikans don't WANT to learn.
Or, as the late Jerry Clower often said, "there's no shame in BEIN' stupid, the shame's in STAYIN' stupid."
Oh, how so true.

Oh dear lord. I found that incredibly funny.  A more accurate summary of government ineptitude I have yet to encounter.
