So my Michigan CPL is up for re-registration, and it looks like I am going to be living here in missouri for some time to come, so I was curious if anyone could give me a rough estimate on the time frame for the ccw process down here.  I am going to go and take the class at the end of this month probably.  just curious about the process down here.  I have been OCing without any real problems other than the occasional annoying sheep.  I have been POLITELY aproached by a couple of KC and one Independence police officer with no problems, But I want to keep a ccw for certian situations (I.E. Independence mall)  Thanks in advance!!    Oh yeah, the wife and kids will be out of town for the entire month of June, so if anyone want to get together for an OC dinner or something in the Independence or KC area, let me know.

Quoting Missouri statute:
http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/C500-599/5710000101.HTM
"The sheriff shall request a criminal background check through the appropriate law enforcement agency within three working days after submission of the properly completed application for a certificate of qualification for a concealed carry endorsement. If no disqualifying record is identified by the fingerprint check at the state level, the fingerprints shall be forwarded to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a national criminal history record check. Upon receipt of the completed background check, the sheriff shall issue a certificate of qualification for a concealed carry endorsement within three working days. The sheriff shall issue the certificate within forty-five calendar days if the criminal background check has not been received, provided that the sheriff shall revoke any such certificate and endorsement within twenty-four hours of receipt of any background check that results in a disqualifying record, and shall notify the department of revenue."

I think it took a couple of weeks maybe for mine.

I live in Jefferson county. 14 days start to finish
$135 for the class and 100 to the local sheriff and I think 14 to the DMV
-You will have to be a MO resident for 6 months or close to it,  to be eligible to apply for a MO CCW

The 6 month residency requirement was removed from the law Aug. 28, 2008.
