| As I stated before, this was and is political. The DA was playing suck up and got what he wanted. That being out of it and the ruling on some one else's head. His news statements show this. Politics in Belen fallow, to a large extent, the old Spanish family lines. The DA knew that he had no case but did not want to cross either side, so he let the judge rule on it. This way he is clear and has no responsibility.

| It is time for everyone to send letters to their State Senators and Representatives again about passing a Castle Doctrine law in NM. Now there are 38 states that have passed them and ours passed the Senate in 2007, but the House failed due to some liberal Representatives. I sent a letter to the Albuq. Journal editor today about this issue and am writing our legislators now. If we had the law passed in New Mexico, Luke Sanchez could never have been charged in the first place.

Here is a link to my entire letter to the Albuq. Journal editor regarding Castle Doctrine and how it could protect people defending themselves:

Just a "point of order" here, if you will, but please note that no document or law "gives" rights...they can only affirm them.
In this article's title, a better word than "gives" would be "recognizes," which would indicate the RIGHT is already there, it's just being afirmed.
I know it's easy to read the title and not think much of it, but IMO, we need to note any discrepancies.
