| The Wally World here in Wake Forest finally got some ammo back in stock as of last Thursday. They had .40, .223, and some 7.62x39 as I recall. Their shelves had been empty for quite some time prior to this.

Yeah, I ran across 2 boxes of .40 at the local wal-mart here. They said they had come off the truck less than an hour ago, and that was all they got in. I still haven't seen any .380 since before new years.

| Anyone know why Wal-Mart won't sell ammo past 10pm? Is that a store policy or a state law?

I didn't know that was a problem. Next time I wander by there after 10 I'll see if I can buy some.

| Yeah, I've been told at Wal-Marts in both Wake Forest and Durham that they can't sell ammo past 10pm. I would think this would be a state law since it means Wal-Mart is losing money, but then again the whole deal where they have to carry any purchased firearms to the door with you is a store policy, isn't it? Both rules seem rather silly to me.

| My friend scored three 250rd value packs of 9mm today at walmart on Yadkin/Skibo. Ammo is out there, just have to catch it right when the shipment comes in.

I've been to plenty different WalMarts that have sold me ammunition past 10pm
The one in Lexington has plenty of Blazer Brass .40 S&W, I haven't found any with 9mm yet.

Apparently someone is the Fayetteville area is cleaning out Wal-Mart when they get in ammo, likely for resale. Wal-Mart on Yadkin/Skibo got in a big shipment last night, but someone came in this morning and bought out all the 9mm, 45, and 223 they had.
However, Gander Mountain and Ed's Guns on US 1 have a lot of ammo right now. Gander got in some cheap XM193 and other brands, and Ed's has nearly all calibers and 00 buck. Won't last long though, every store was PACKED with people buying in bulk.

Today I spoke with the Sporting Goods manager of a local Wal-Mart. I called to ask him if they had .38 Special in stock (they didnt, neither do the others in my area), and we ended up having a ten minute conversation about how Wal-Mart is getting shafted because the ammo companies are sending all their ammo priority to the places that have high gun sales, since there is more of a market for ammo there.
He said that THERE IS NO POLICY against what time ammo can be sold at ANY Wal-Mart. He said that most Wal-Marts send their sporting goods service rep/clerk home around 10 or 11pm, but you can STILL buy ammo. It just means you have to get a manager (or someone else with authorization and keys to the ammo cabinet) to open it up for you. He said it doesn't matter if its midnight, or 4am, or Hanukkah, or whatever, you can buy ammo there.
If someone tells you that they don't sell past 10 pm, either it is because they are too lazy to find a manager to help you, or because they are misinformed and are ASSUMING that because the sporting goods guy went home that no one else can sell it.
I just thought that a few of you folks would find this helpful..
Take care!

Has anyone seen any 380 ammo? I was on a wait list for 6 months for a Ruger LCP. Now that it's here - cant find any ammo. Not online or anywhere local.

I'm glad I'm not a slave to ChiComMarts stock of ammo. I am somewhat of a slave to the Lee Classic Turret and Rockchucker, but I enjoy it, plus it means time spend in the "man cave" in peace.
Handloading is the answer, even more so during an ammo shortage and the huge price increases that go with it.
Back when WWB was $9/100 I didn't bother handloading 9x19, not I handload everything I shoot.

Okay so my local Wal-Mart hasn't had handgun ammo in stock for about a month. Every time I go they are just OUT, of every caliber.
Has anyone else seen/bought handgun ammo recently at Wal-Mart?
