Ok I am super confused on this one,I went to Walmart in Tallmadge/Brimfield and there is a wood forest bank in the walmart for those who do not frequent there.
Above the counter there was a no deadly weapons sign.
Can you OC in a bank even if there is a sign because of preemtion?
Another question in Ravenna,oh which is in Portage County there is county clothing donations place pretty cool, its a thift store provided for free by the residents for the residents of that county.
There was a no deadly weapons sign also, can the county say you cannot carry gun in there?
3/I guess what the question is other than state blds and courts can you OC even if there is a deadly weapons sign in the state of ohio?
Bring the Comments even if my questions seem nieve its to shed light for others who are not as seasoned. As Iron Sharpens Iron

State law allows private property owners to post "no guns" signs. This has nothing to do with preemption. Preemption is about preventing local governments from having their firearms laws.
As to government buildings, it depends on what type it is. There are specific sections of ORC preventing ALL guns from courthouses and school property, for example.
Other government buildings are covered by the CCW section which says "no concealed handguns" and doesn't specifically prevent open carry.
So it depends on what type of building it is and which section of ORC covers it.

So there can be two banks next to eachother, one has sign that says that you cannot carry and the bank can have no signs and you can carry in there.
I went to the title bureau and they had a anti CC sign, but it also prevented any fire arms.
I hate assuming but should we assume that unless its a complete anti-firearms and only CC that we can OC in that said place?

State Law clearly states the places where no firearms (OC or CC) my be carried, they are.
A Courthouse or building in which a courthouse is located.
A jail or detention facility
A school or a school safety zone(unless certain conditions are met)
A place for which liquor is being dispensed under a class D license
A State run mental facility.
You can open carry in a police station if they don't have a jail. A city hall if they don't have a mayor's court.
You need to start doing your own "more in depth" research.
Also, where are you located in Ohio?????

Sorry if this has been discussed a bunch and I just haven't searched enough, but I would like to know, as an out of state concealed pistol license holder, is this all I have to worry about for OCing and CCing in ohio?
I am in Ohio for various reasons every now and again, and now that I have my license it would be nice to know all the laws.

I must ask what sort of problems do you get from where you live?
I wwould def go out to say even in the most Anti city OC or CC is defintly not a big as much as it would be in Hawaii where im originally from. I will defintly say for sure when you have your CCW in Ohio you will have less police harrassment. But in less populated areas where people dont exersize their rights execpt to hunt you may get random noobbness from antis or leos. But this is one of the most self defensive state ive been to.
Akron/Kent/Stow is a great place to OC for the record.
Also I would look up transport with your CCW and see if your is acceptable so you dont have to have ur gun unloaded during transport. I dont know what CCWs are unacceptable but some are.
Transport is pretty simple here.Closed container, unloaded, not reachable while driving

I am referring to absolute "No Carry" in any manor. I would get the Ohio AG handbook.
