Hi all,

I might be moving down to SC in a couple of months and I'm curious about self defense laws there. I know SC is a no-retreat state but I would like to know how self defense works in practice there. If you shoot someone who breaks into your home or attacks you with weapon in public is there a chance you will end up in prison or being sued?

Thanks,
Gary

Edit: I know there is always a chance but how bad is it? I know in NY there is a good chance you'll face something. Also how tough is getting a ccp in SC? this is also pretty bad in parts of NY.

The sad part is that there's always a chance.
