S.593 had a second reading in the Senate today and amended on the floor. I expect it to pass the Senate in this form and move on to the house where it should pass as the House is much more gun friendly than the Senate.
It allows a CWP holder to keep their gun in their cars while on shcool property as long as it is in the console, glove box etc. This is not what we wanted but is a start and much better than before. .....
This section does not apply to a person who is authorized to carry a concealed weapon pursuant to Article 4, Chapter 31, Title 23 when the weapon remains inside an attended or locked motor vehicle and is secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle.
