"Firearms:  In light of recent events at Board meetings the committee unanimously approved two changes to existing ordinances…. Change the penalties referenced in ordinance 4161(b) from $100 to $250 and $500 to $1,000, and Alderman Dress so moved.  Motion was seconded by Alderman Robinson, and passed 10-0.  There was going to be a motion to Include in ordinance 4611 the wording “all municipally owned buildings”
But the wording was so broad the committee felt more research was in order.  City schools and City parks did meet the criteria according to Attorney Costello."

Sounds like it's time for an OC event in Rutland.  I'll be in the WRJ/Hanover area between 7-13 June.  Coffee, anyone?

I'd love to go, but I'd have to travel 2000ish miles in order to do it.
Sorry....
Hope it all goes well.

O.K. '77, we'll let you off this time.

For the rest of you, anyone want to meet in Rutland?  I'm out from Tucson for a family wedding in Boston ($%^*&$ gun locked up in case!), and then up to Hanover this Sunday through Saturday to see my grandmother.  Who wants to get coffee and doughnuts?  Or pizza?

(See '77?  I can make it 2000+ miles for an O.C. meet....   B.E.G.!)

PAVEPUSHER obviously has someone close to the east coast that means something to him.

I, however, do not.  Furthest east I need to go to visit anybody is the Missouri side of St. Louis.
:celebrate

There are days when I wish my entire family would live in one half of the country, let alone one state.....   Sigh.

Utah

Missouri

Florida

New York

New Hampshire

And I'm in Arizona for now.

I can't afford this excrement.....:D

We win. Sort of, we need to get rid of the portion that bans carry on school grounds but nonetheless nothing new will be added.

Quote from Rutland Herald article:

"One issue the committee chose not to touch was the existing firearm ordinance. Some aldermen have been mulling the issue of outlawing firearms in city buildings since a man walked into a board meeting more than a year ago wearing a visible sidearm. However, the committee was told that if it enacted such an ordinance it would be superseding state law and chose not to go ahead with the change, according to Chairman Dave Dress."
