Man, you crack me up.  Your avatar reminds me of the photo of the little girl in a pretty blue dress that had Jesse Jacksons head,  with pigtails and all, photoshopped onto her shoulders.  The caption was something like "Will you help me find my daddy?  I don't know who he is"  Or "Who's your daddy?"  Or something like that.  Funny stuff.

Edit:  Jesse Jackson makes for one ugly little girl :^).

If you can find a cite for this I'd like to read about it.  When the great O picked him as his running mate my first reaction was BORING, which later turned into STILL BORING.  When McCain picked Palin my first reaction was WHO, which later turned to ZOWIE and genuine joyful laughter :^).

The article says "200 people showed up". :uhoh:

Whoooo-eee, That ol' snooze-master really packs 'em in, doesn't he ??

I like the line in the article that says, "Biden worked the crowd. Took off his coat And gave a healthy dose of the "fire em up" speech that gets a crowd "fired up.

Who writes this stuff???  I could do better than that.

Actually it's pretty good, assuming it is a photoshop.  Why did you say it's bad?

Its acutally a very good photoshop.  BUT IT IS PHOTOSHOP.
What was your clue that this was a photoshop job?
I said it's bad, because of the first clue: the head is about three sizes too big. Almost as obvious, the lighting is completely different, and from a different angle.

Photoshop adds header information to images.
You can get around it by stripping your headers completely. But that will look suspicious.  So just strip off the photoshop part.

Another, and more accurate, way is to use the basis for digital fingerprinting to determine if the image has been photoshopped.

http://www.physorg.com/news64638499.html

Digital cameras have non-uniform pixel alignments (we're talking pixel alignment errors in the range of micro to picometers), unnoticeable to human eyes.  If you do a pixel analysis of the digital image and you notice a particular section where the pixel alignment is either perfect (added section was entirely fabricated in photoshop) or a thin section that is perfect next to a section that is also differently misaligned (extracted from another picture and pasted in, then the area touching the pasted region was manipulated in photoshop to be a perfect merge of pixels), you know something fishy is going on.

Thorough enough for you? ;)

Of course, I just employ the "Does that look shopped to me?" eye test.

Now that's good stuff.  I knew about the EXIF data and appreciate the link to the editor.  I've not used Photoshop so I didnt' know that it added its own headers to the image.     The noise analysis is fascinating, and their accuracy rate impressive.  I wonder if the photo can be 'washed' by passing it through multiple editors stripping the noise out indifferent ways, invalidating the researchers testing.

And all I did was say: "she's not wearing a wedding ring.  must be a chop job"

McCain and Palin are also scheduled to appear in the City of Fairfax on September 10.

Palin's Virginia Beach visit canceled.  Too bad, it was a great opportunity to promote open carry.

Palin Visit To Be Rescheduled

Sept 10, 2008 4:14 PM

GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) will not be here for a September 18 event due to scheduling, according to a Virginia Beach Republican Party official. He says Gov. Palin and Sen. John McCain still plan to visit Hampton Roads soon.

I don't know about the rest of you. but I live in a big glass house, so I don't throw stones.  I guess we have a poster who got lost somewhere way back in the past.  Palin's daughter deserves a medal for her decision, not that it's anyones business to begin with.

Really? Care to explain why? Are only Republicans allowed to own guns and make smart-ass comments about the opposing political party?

And I haven't been a boy for some time now. I'll accept Sir, Dude, Brother, Man, Sport, Chief, and even Hoss if you must.
