Since no one has mention it. Who is up for a road trip?

1. VCDL to address Norfolk City Council - plan on being there!

It's time for VCDL's to address Norfolk City Council on the Norfolk
Police harassing two gun owners and charging a third under an invalid
ordinance, all within a few weeks of each other, and all at different
locations.
In order to give all of you plenty of notice so that you can attend,
VCDL will address Norfolk City Council on Tuesday, August 28th -
about a month from now.
You should plan on arriving at 7 PM.
If you want to speak, you can sign up at the meeting or you can call
757-664-4268. You don't have to speak, just having City Council see
a room full of "Guns Save Lives" buttons is important.
I have already signed up and indicated what I will be speaking on, so
Norfolk City Council should be fully aware that we are coming.
As you might imagine, we want a *huge* turnout, not only from the
Tidewater members, but from across the state. We want the message to
be loud and clear, "NO MORE HARASSMENT OF LAW-ABIDING GUN OWNERS!"
and "NO MORE ILLEGAL ORDINANCES!"

This should be fun! Can I assume there will be some "fellowship time" in a local restaurant after said event? I think we ought to go to some place in the Waterside complex. It's easy to find for those whe aren't familiar with Norfolk, there's plenty of parking, and the symbolism will be really rich. Who knows, some of the cops who figured in this might be on duty that evening!.

EDIT - not gonna make it. Family member has medical issues with doctor appointments that interfere.
I'm with you in spirit.
I'd like to. I'm a tentative "yes" - got some issues to clear up first.
Probably JUST me, not family, though I'm not sure yet. Would like a carpool buddy if that happens.

Mark your calendars - VCDL is having a membership meeting in the
Henrico/Richmond area on Thursday, August 30th, from 7 to 8:30 PM at
the Tuckahoe Library.
We are also going to have a meeting at the Norfolk County Rifle Range
in Chesapeake on Wednesday, August 22nd, from 7 to 8:30 PM!
I look forward to seeing our central Virginia and southeast members
next month! I will provide more details as the dates get nearer.

Anybody know if you can carry on the ferry?
I'm tired, thinking "ferry carry" to myself just cracked me up.

Heck, im going to be skipping my classes that day and driving from Richmond to make it there. I can miss one day of class to show support for my fellow gun owners.
