Texas Roadhouse, huh?  I guess the corporate policy didn't filter down to the York County place, because we had our December OC get together there, with about a dozen of us carrying.  Some of the waitstaff commented about OC to us, but we didn't get any flack from the management.  I got the impression from the manager who helped arrange the reservations that we were welcome to come back.  I guess a lot of this stuff just depends on the attitude of the individual manager.

I was also at the meeting with Dutchuncle but, we left later and ran into the kitchen manager who saw we were carrying and it didn't bother him .He said he didn't mind and welcomed us to return anytime.:)

OC'd at Cheeburger, Cheeburger, in Midlothian.  Manager came by the table to say hi, like last time, but no problems.  He just asked about the food, and didn't ask any other tables.  I'll get Cheeburger trained yet.

The Richmond OC dinner, last Tuesday, 8+ of us OC'd at TGI Friday's at Chersterfield on 360.  They asked us to leave toward the end of the meal.  I won't be patronizing this location in the future, but I don't think this is consistant at all TGIF's, and I sure hope not, because I like to eat there.

OC'd today again at "Cheeburger Cheeburger" on 60 in Midlothian.  They're getting used to seeing me there armed.  No problems.

OC'd at Great Clips today on 147 in Midlothian.  The place was crowded and no one said a thing.

What's up with all the restaurant troubles lately?

Yes, that's the one.  I usually meet my wife there for lunch occasionally, but we would enjoy the company.  We'll do it sometime.

hlh - I open carry in the Richmond area quite a bit. Most often, it is in the Short Pump area, but also Powhatan and the Midlothian area on occasion. I don't post each time (because there are hundreds), but I have open carried in banks, Wal-Marts, Shell stations, etc. Only once have I ever had a problem, but several times I've received compliments. 99% of the time, however, either no one notices or cares.

i wouldn't want to intrude on a nice lunch with the wife.  i rarely get the opportunity to do that myself - especially with 2 little ones.

btw, it was great meeting the 2 of you on Tuesday.  let me know if you'd ever want to run out to black creek.  i'm taking my son out tomorrow to watch the 3-gun match, and of course lay down a hundred rounds or so.

Good point.  Some of us OC so much it's too much work to add it all to the thread.  I understand.

I was planning on being at Black Creek at 1 pm for the tour and apply for membership.  What time is the 3-gun competition?

i think it starts in the morning, 9:30 or so, but runs for most of the day.  i'll probably head out from here around 11 or so.  if you see my truck, you might see me down on the 10-15 yrd range.  oh, and if they do say anything about needing to be recommended by a member, have them come get me, i'd be happy to.  mind you that this wasn't asked of me, but who knows - i've only been a member for about a month.

i don't think they'll let you shoot tomorrow, unless you pay as a guest with me (or another member).  and you have to be an NRA member to join.  that was one thing that i needed to do, and i believe they can do the NRA membership there also.  i'm not sure if i'm scaring you off with all my rambling, i hope not.  i think it would be fun to possibly get some of the folks from our dinner to participate in the idpa that's done there (i heard some interest when i mentioned it).

Glad you mentioned the NRA membership, I'll bring my card.  I'll try to be there towards noon and watch what's going on for a bit.  I'd enjoy some competition sometime.  Sounds like fun.

I OC mostly southside and chester area.  Couldn't make it to the dinner, my three year old was under the weather.  Hopefully next time.  I don't post much.  I rarely have anyone notice my carrying, and I carry all the time. I usually just post problems.

OC'ed at Kroger (Laburnum Avenue and Williamsburg Road) on Sunday.  Nobody seemed to notice except for the cashier who asked if I was an undercover LEO.  She asked in a manner that was more "small talk" than curiosity, so I simply replied in the negative and said no more.  She didn't pursue the subject, and did not show any concern as she continued to ring up our groceries.

I've OC'd in Culpeper a couple of times, but I don't get up that way much.  I don't OC consistently though.

I don't go to many different places, but to keep this thread up to date, during the last week I OC'ed at the following locations:
  1. Mexico Restaurant on Williamsburg Road (twice).
  2. Kroger on the corner of Williamsburg Road and Laburnum Avenue (twice).
  3. Kroger on West Broad Street.
  4. Wal-Mart in Mechanicsville.
  5. Dicks Sporting Goods on US-1 across from Virginia Center Commons mall.
  6. Post Office in Sandston (only far enough to check my box - I did not enter the retail area, although it was open)
No issues.
