| I'm glad to see that someone has mentioned the NRA. I think it will ultimately be their attorneys who will take any action that is needed to overturn Nickels' move. But as has been said, this is not yet enacted, so I think the best strategy is to wait until it becomes fact, and THEN get the NRA involved. Chances are that if someone calls them now they would say just this, i.e. wait.

The Second Amendment Foundation, and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms — both based in Bellevue — are on top of this.
Mayor Nickels hasn't actually done anything yet. Until and unless he does, no harm, no foul.
Enjoy the summer weather.

The mayor has come up with an enhancement to his "gun ban". It's a "car ban".

Car-free Sundays?!? Many caught off-guard by mayor's plan
By KATHY MULADY
P-I REPORTER
Mayor Greg Nickels' announcement Wednesday of a car-free Sundays experiment starting in certain neighborhoods in August quickly drew reaction from residents and business owners who said the plan caught them by surprise.
Business owners wondered how customers would reach their stores and restaurants.
"We might as well close for the day," said Joe Fraser, general manager of Duke's Chowder House on Alki. West Seattle is one of the neighborhoods affected.

Nickels has got to go. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that in a city that ranks as one of the worst in the country for traffic you'd want to improve and increase the availability of navigable roadways, not shut them down. Rediculous.

Yeah, in a down economic period let's shut down traffic to small businesses who employ people who pay his salary.

Nickels might be bad enough, but San Francisco has a REAL problem with their mayor. Gavin Newsom is probably the WORST, even more than Nickels.
They say that in a democratic form of government the governed get the government they deserve. If the people of Seattle don't deserve Nickels they should throw him out. If they don't, they simply deserve what they got.

Funny, Sad and so true. I hope the others wise up and join the fight in preserving what Nickels is so adamant on taking away at his own whims.

KIRO is planning an anti Nickles block party. As Nickels want everyone to be subjects feeding off of the government teet. The will be giving out handfuls of plastic bags fro every pacifier you bring in, lawn mowers will provide transportation and there will be lawn mower races. All party foods will be made with trans fat etc May be a great day for open carry member so show up in force. Let the fat slob know what we think of him and his pansy socialist regime and support the few sane rational citizens remaining in Seattle

I'll wear recycled clothing lined with table scraps and carry my piece (my other gun folks) in a banana peel.

WHere did this information come from? When is this planned and where? My bad it is posted at Dori Monson Show I was listening when he announced it at first he was clowning but than so many people got amped about it he decided to make it real. Think they are going to call it Just Chill a quote from tubby when people were upset about him blocking off business at Alki. She said quote"Just chill, get out of your car and walk." end quote Like that pig has gotten up to walk anywhere except the feeding trough. If there was ever a waste of skin Nickles is it. I would not let my dog pee on her is she was on fire. Guys a punk in the most derogatory sense of the word and I gotta get off this thread before I get myself banned

What’s the latest on overturning the GUN BAN? Weird plastic bags get more attention and respect then 2nd rights AND State preemptions!
"The Washington Food Industry is gathering signatures to try and overturn the bag-fee ordinance" "The Washington Food Industry has 10 more days to gather more than 14,000 signatures for the referendum. If they gather enough signatures the referendum to overturn the bag-fee, it would be on the ballot next summer". On the news she said they expect 50,000 signatures!
How many signatures do we have to get our 2nd back, and put Nickels on the street living in his failed public crapper tax payers got screwed over?
