Maybe, but that's RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT on the cop's part. Theres a few dozen lawsuits each year regarding cops crashing into innocent citizens while responding to a call or while in a chase. None of the criminals ever get charged. That ideaology is just plain stupid and ignorant.

Mick Kelly's Irish Pub at Full Throttle Resturant located in Renton Motorcycle Company.
3701 E Valley RD Renton, WA 98057
I had been there twice before with friends. We always sit outside on the balcony in the soda section. i.e. the family area, you don't have to be 21 to be in this area.
Went there last night for the $1 taco's and $2 Sam Adams.
The waiter advised me I would need to cover up or go put my weapon in the car. He said that someone had complained. That they were talking to the liquor control board. I told him it was legal and I wouldn't be doing it otherwise. He said this had come down from the owner and that he didn't mind.
I told my friends to have a good night and proceeded to leave. They won't allow me to exercise my rights, I won't exercise my wallet!

I had my first OC campaign on Tuesday, 15 Dec. I have been lurking around this site off and on checking info and the like, and finally decided it was the day. I did some xmas shopping, so the stores were more full than normal. I was in the Lacey/Olympia area.
My first stop was the Tenino Post Office, so of course I left my gun in the truck. Then hammered through Tumwater to the Lacey Fred Meyer's store (700 Sleater Kinney Road Southeast). Parking was a joke, lucked out when I got close to the entrance a car pulled out. So, I exited my truck, my Kimber TLE II in plain view on my hip. I entered Fred's, and immediately went to the jewelry department, as I had a watch I needed to get a battery replaced in. I'm sure 2 of 3 women that were working there saw it, but didn't say anything. Dropped the watch off, and tried to do some shopping there, but they didn't have what I needed. So I exited Fred's, and would return later for the watch.
One Fred's employees suggested I might find what I was looking for at Kohl's across the street in the South Sound Shopping Center by the Michaels, Target and Sears. So, across the street I went to Kohl's (681 Sleater Kinney Road Southeast). Hammered in, walking in past the 4 registers at that entrance with customers, and conveniently caught an employee who directed me to where I was wanting to go. I spent probably 20 minutes standing looking at items trying to figure out what my brother would like for xmas. Many people passed me, and no one said anything about my OC. Found what I think will suffice for an xmas gift, and hammered on outta there. Neither of the guys at the register had any comments about my OC either.
So back to Fred's I headed. Yea, parking was still a joke. Went in, got the watch, and was outta there in a NY minute. I love it when a plan comes together!
So, I then went to the Cascade Arms (3959 Martin Way East, Olympia (New home of the old Larry's Guns, but the Larry's sign is still above the door)). I didn't notice they allowed OC in their store, until I saw the post here in this thread. I had left my pistol in my truck. However, the posts that are linked must not be active any more because they can't be found. I mentioned OC to one of the guys in the store, but didn't mention they allowed it in their store. The Lover's Package right next door doesn't like firearms in their store, it is clearly posted. Might add that to the list lol. So after looking around, I took off to get some fuel.
Then it was to the Safeway gas station on Martin Way across from the K-Mart near the Jack in the Box, and the WSECU, and the other Lowes that I'm sure has an Olympia address. Olympia and Lacey are messed up with their city lines. A woman pulled up in her SUV as I was cleaning the windows of my truck. I looked in her direction as she pulled up to the pump. The front of my truck was facing the front of hers, and I was on the right side cleaning my windshield so she got a view of my OC. She kinda had the look on her face like, "Do I really want to get out?" She did, and I thought she was going to ask me a question, but started fueling her rig. That was a painless stop at the gas station. Then one more stop on the way home.
I went to Lowes (5610 Corporate Center Ln SE in Lacey, right near the corner of College St. and Yelm Hwy. across from the McD's). No one said anything, and I'm sure some of them saw my pistol, as I was back and forth in the store 4 or 5 times. I was talking to a guy though, that went to Central about the same time I did who worked at that Lowes. Got me squared away with some items for doing some stock work on my newly acquired SKS. After talking about hunting, and CWU we started to chat a little about OC. I informed him it was legal, and referred him to this site for more info as I am still an OC n00b, but hoping to become an OC vet.
Very interested in any OC meets in the surrounding areas as well. My first experience was better than I expected. But, I didn't really know what was to be expected anyways, as far as confrontation goes from other people or police. It was a good experience. I also had the OC pamphlet copy with me as well produced by an OCDO member.

I really need this in PDF. What's the possibility of something like that even with a start-off list? Who do we need to talk to? I'm just a noob to this forum and WA, but I protect what's mine. Anyway, is there a short list to start with... something we can update? Let me know please.

At the top of the forum there are the pamphlets you can print up.
It's been awhile since I printed since I got a bunch of nice shiny ones from M1gunr, and then Heresolong after I was running out of those.
I like the updated one but have not had a chance to print out and use it yet.

As I was heading through Tumwater on Saturday 23 Jan 10, I stopped at the WSECU branch of credit unions near the Fred Meyer off Little Rock Road. I can't find an address for it. I wasn't carrying, but didn't see a sign prohibiting guns as I entered. I held the door for an older lady upon exit, and did notice the small sign amongst other signage on the front door prohibiting firearms inside the establishment. Just an FYI.
I did ask the girl at the "information" desk right in front of the door if she was familiar with open carry. Her and a co-worker gave me the blank "WTF" stare. I briefly explained to her what it was, and politely suggested to her that a larger advertisement for no firearms in the establishment may be a prudent course of action.

My friend, you just told that bank that OC people (gun carriers) are to be feared, and that only a bigger "no guns" sign will stop them.
I know that's probably not what you intended to convey, but that is what she heard. You have to realize that people who don't own, and especially people who don't carry a firearm have a completely different mindset than you or I on the subject.
I assure you, she likely didn't take the message as you intended.
BIG RULE: Leave signage alone! Don't ever "notify" the establishment, they will ask you to leave if they want too at the time of carry. Signage has no rule of law in Washington anyway.

I agree with you. Establishments that do not allow firearms should have signage large enough to be obvious. This avoids the problem of being approached and hassled by one or more employees and creating a scene that frightens even more people.

I don't see it listed, but Mandolin Cafe in Tacoma does not want gun owners as customers.

+1
I'm surprised it's not on there, it has been known to be pro carry for a long, long time.

Good idea. There should be a database for every state.
