The WASP website is currently down because we are not selling it to the general public yet. We are currently in negotiations to sell it strictly on the non-civilian market and decided to take the site down while we were working out the details. We will know more in the coming weeks and the site will go back online based on the arrangements we make.
To answer a few of your concerns:
This knife is made of high-quality materials and is safe and extremely effective. Although we are gearing our marketing towards the diving community, there are other uses for besides diving.
As for the comment about being "screwed" if you encounter a shark in the open water... Yes, you are right, but if you have one last line of defense it might as well be something effective. What if the shark attacks your dive partner? At least you will have a weapon to possibly save him or her if you see it coming.
Well it's disappointing that you won't sell to civilians.

| Wow, what a big waste of money. Has anyone ever seen a dive knife with a point? If the blade shot out of the handle propelled by the CO2 I'd say that's cool and move on. Fending a shark off with a knife might buy you some time, inflating it may save your life(doubtful), but holding something under 35 feet of water without a pole and being able to thrust it into something isn't the easiest thing to do. By the time it decides to attack you're already bitten, after that depending on how fast you stop the bleeding and whether the punctures can be repaired determines if you live or die. The troops need a great quality steel blade which serves many functions. Blackhawk MOD knives are affordable, have many ways to carry them, and are made of high quality steel. They have affordable models to fit any soldiers needs.
