Here is the flyer going out. There is a lot the same as last time with a couple of additions.Dave Workman indicated he could make this and do a talk.He will also have his book available. With the summer weather we should get more resident participation. Also we should have the pool available for those that want to.More info as we go.We have a couple of opportunities to to really show resolve.July 27 in Bellevue and this one.Back to back, folks will see we are here to stay and getting bigger.....Also prior to a tri-state meet lets show Or.and Idaho how its done.We are getting the same support from local business as before.also I will post info on parking instructions as we get closer.Blume

Blumenthals is behind us now......They have donated a brand new pair of 5-11's for our prize drawing

My ex tried to make an issue of me and my guns ( my own lawyer did too), the judge said none of that matters and has no bearing on my visitation rights. It actually was the one thing that kind of backlashed against all the nasty things my ex tried to pull.

Armed citizens AGAIN descend on Apartment community!

Willow Lake, community awareness event, meeting and lunch.

SeaTac, WA. – Sat. July 18TH, 2009 – In response to the shooting on February 17, 2009 at the Willow Lake apartment complex in SeaTac WA.

See story .http://www.king5.com/video/news-index.html?nvid=346642
People are tired of crime in our community. There have been break-ins, vehicle theft, gang activity, drugs sales, even the neighborhood bank was held up. People here have had enough. Washington members of OpenCarry.org in light of the success of the March 28th 2009 event has organized a second community lunch and information program for all the residents of our community and surrounding area. This was also put together due to requests from several residents for another meeting. We have again garnered the support of several local businesses to co-sponsor the event to supply food, drinks and snacks..  Open Carry members will be on hand to inform residents of their right to bear arms and the choices they have in protecting themselves and their property.

The event is scheduled for July 18th 2009 at the Willow Lake Apts.3002 S.208th St., Seatac WA. And will run from 11am to 3pm. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am catered by Dino’s Restaurant. Drawing for prizes begins at 2:00pm. All residents of Willow Lakes and surrounding community are invited to join us. Drawings will be held for Safeway gift cards, dinners for 2 at Dino’s, free coffee tickets from Chris at Café’Valle Espresso, free car washes from Squeaky Clean, a new pair of 5-11 tactical pants from Blumenthal Uniforms and Equip(Where law enforcement shops) and many others. Prize drawings are for the residents of Willow Lakes and guests as well as balloons and prizes for the kids. There will be informal discussions of your rights and responsibilities to own and bear arms.

This event is about our community and looking out for our neighbors. It’s about the 2nd amendment, which in the opinion of many is non negotiable. It is about a choice, a choice to take responsibility for the protection of ourselves, our neighbors and the Constitution as it was originally put forth. Our purpose is to demonstrate, that we, those who bear arms are the American people who by the 2nd amendment stand firm for our communities and immovable in the rights given us.

The Washington members of OpenCarry.org would like to thank Safeway on 216th and Pacific, Chris at Café’Valle Espresso, Debbie ant Blumenthal Uniforms, Tom at Squeaky Clean Carwash and a special thanks to Dev of DINO”s Restaurant for their support of the Constitution and our community, and all of you with OCDO that made this possible.

…all power is inherent in the people…it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”  Thomas Jefferson

I am wondering are you guys are taking any donations to support this event? If so where somebody can drop money at? I am sure for a big gathering like this one or two people are not going to pay everything from their pocket if so this is not fair. In my opinion we all should do some kind of collection or atleast take responsibility of doing something.

The address you can punch in is 3002 S. 208th st. Seatac ,Wa. 98198.If anyone wants to PM me I will also give you my cell in case you get lost .

As in the flyer it will be in the Cabana at the Willow Lake apts and we will have it marked with flags etc. .Parking will be at the Angle Lake Lock Smith across the street.I will also post all the directions etc.many times before the meet.We are already getting rumblings from KIRo. .I would like to see a hundred of us here if possible. They also see us doing something very positive for our communities.Imagine what a statement that will make.

BY the way my self and the gal that owns the cofffee stand and  Tom who owns the carwash that is helping us out assited the police in trying to run down a couple of hookers that have been hassling the car wash customers and a threesome that we watched break in to a building across from the coffee stand. I walked right up to a female officer to talk with her about what we new and at no time did she  question my sidearm..

I believe if we start making a big showing in these neighborhoods we accomplish a couple of things. We show the criminal element that they are being observed by ordinary citizens that are fed up with the crime and can turn up anywhere at any time, however in our case a group of citizens able to defend themselves. When they see that most move on.They are cowards for the most part .Also as the media sees these meets more frequent and bigger each time they begin to realize we are good decent hard working Americans that will stand firm in that right to defend ourselves,  our families and property and beleive that the second ammendment is non negotiable. Also ,they see we are not going away........

If you are attending, then a donation on arrival is appropriate.  If you knew Deros and Manu, you would know they are taking donations but they don't solicit them.

SALSA will be there.  Anyone needing their motor degreased or Paint removed this is the stuff to do it. I am thinking about marketing it. Just need a good catchy name.

Volcano salsa...Edible Lava...etc.

Also today I went around posting further bullitens and flyers.I talked to a Demoinse officer that I gave invites to that said they may try to drop by.I won't give his name but a good guy.He said "I bet it's the low lifes around here that are upset about you carrying ".

Blumenthal Uniforms is posting advertisements for our meet. They are excited about their involvement. For those who don't know they are donating a new pair of 5.11 tactical pants for our prize drawings. You would pay $40 plus tax if you buy them. Thanks to Debbie the manager over there for their support.A couple of the girls there also regognized Manu and have eaten at his resturant.

Deros we are lucky that most of the LEO arround here are very well informed. Remember few Des Moines PD detectives mentioned about our last meet that we are doing good job. We never had any problems excercising our rights with Seatac/Des Moines/Normandy Park/Burien Police department, Even I came across few LEO from Kent and Auburn never had any problem I hope its not cuz they know me (in a good way) from my work because lots of PD officers eat at my establishment. :D

Oustanding SV.. Looking forward to meeting you.Manu and I met today ,OC by the way at my favorite Starbucks to finalize our plans for this event.Big thanks to Bookman as well,he works graveyard but always makes time to help us no matter how tired he is.I have talked with a lot of local LE who say the might join us.The manager of Safeway came to me the other day and said they are continuing to stockpile stuff for our group. Understand they have never done anything like this for anyone else .This time we even have Blumentahls advertising and supporting us.We really have alot of support from local business for this.

Residents keep asking about it.We should have the pool available if anyone cares to use it.We are the only folks that can walk in armed to local business and have them just give us stuff.VOLUNTARILY.Its one thing to have a get few folks gather for lunch but we all need to start coming together for this cause in masses. The only way to do that is gain support of the community you're in.They are becoming quite accustomed to seeing armed citizens around here.

Also note I recieved a confirmation from Dave Workman, he will for sure attend and we will set aside a little time for him.We have alot of great stuff to give away ,good food,Excellent company and the second ammendment. Thanks to all of you for getting behind this. Without you guys it couldn't happen. And besides JIm said he's bringing his homemade salsa slash paint strip.Really good stuff!

More again later on directions and parking.

Just a note...

The folding chairs we used for the last event here won't be available this time around. Neither will the grill.

I suggest bringing your own chairs, and we definitely need for someone to show up fairly early with a grill... say about 10:30 so we'll be set up by 11:00.

Thanks bookman.although there are sofas and some seating in the cabana we will need some extra seating like we had last time for the crowd we are expecting.I have some deck chairs I will bring down so if anyone can help out that would be great.I will start setting up about 9 am.

We also have a canopy available for out doors we will be setting up and I checked the long range forcast that so far is showing a mid to upper 70's sunshiny day.

Also, if anyone has a table we could use, that would be great. Last time we had a folding 5' conference-style table. That will also no longer be available.

The gist is that I've changed jobs, so a lot of the equipment I borrowed from my former employer just isn't there anymore.

Here is the look across the street....

Enter at the sign and follow it all the way back and right to the leasing office and the Cabana is next to the office.

We have a really good day planned ,it looks like so far the weather is going to be great and lots of good food and support  .In light of all that threatens our 2nd ammendment lets see a good turn out .I'm really grateful to Dave Workman for agreeing to come ,his insight on whats up is invauble and I look forward to what he has to say.
Oh yeah.....and Jims volcanic gut renching salsa. (Haz Mat will be standing by) If we gave that to the anti gun crowd they would leave us alone.      Actually it's the best salsa I've had.

I've got one, 3' X 5', but I can't make it to the event this time.  If someone who is coming from the peninsula wants to pick it up and return it, let me know.

Thanks Manu.Maybe you could tell everyone what you saw today in our neighborghood again as you called me.Perfect example why we should fight to keep our right to bear arms and why a super turnout saturday will send a strong message to that effect.

I may not come.  Will see.  I'm @#$%ing sick of the idiots that have been running around the forum lately, and I'm not in the mood to meet or interact with some of them.  This place has gotten worse in the last year with the amount of morons and radical freaks.

Because of some sick people you do not give up your right to show support to what you beleive in. I think you should come and show those sick people that you do not care what they do. You own your mood do not let anyone spoil it :). Those sick people want to create problems to stop us showing our support to this cause. If you will not come they win...Thats what they want.

Sorry Manu, I'm just being grumpy.  The noise to signal ratio is insane sometimes around here, and nearly every gun board has been overrun by crazed right wing extremists and I despise them as much as I do the liberals.  I'll be there.

Sorry for the late notice, but I should be able to make this one. Do you still need anything DEROS, food, drinks...?

You mentioned earlier that you might need a grill. I've got a charcoal one I could bring if you still need one?

Ok guys, sorry this time bowing out is for real.  I scheduled Saturday off, but things are crappy enough at work (sales) that I (lead agent) need to work to keep things rolling properly.  So I'll be in Shelton Saturday.. Sorry.  Deros, you want to meet up some Monday or Tuesday at Manu's restaurant?  That would kill several birds with one stone for me as well.

Dangit Deros, if you are gonna edit your post, do it BEFORE I start working on a reply LOL.

I'm sorry, this day off was always tentative and things didn't happen to make it a firm go.

Plus I wasn't gonna talk to the media anyway.  Not my style.  And I sell media products down here.

Well, if no one else will tell "The Tale of The Screaming Woman" I will.

The fact is, she wasn't really screaming. But she was very loud and very vocal. As a matter of fact she wouldn't shut up, even though her own mother kept asking her to.

It happened something like this:

Toward the end of the event a young woman came over to the cabana area from one of the apartments. She said her daughter asked her about all the people carrying guns and said that she (the daughter) was scared. This woman went on (and on, and on, and on) to say that we were scaring everyone and shouldn't be there with guns out in the open. The funny thing about this is that the pool was full and people were out on their patios having their own fun. No one was really giving us a second thought other than plain curiosity, which we welcome wholeheartedly as it gives us a chance to educate people.

Anyway, after "Screaming Mimi" left the area she called the police, and here's where it gets good. Both Seatac Police and KCSO responded to her call but never once approached us until the end. They spoke to a few people around the pool and also to the complainant. They gave her a brief education on the 2nd Amendment and Washington State gun laws. THEN a Sherriff's deputy came by to let us know there was no problem and how the call had been handled.

That was it! This has to be one of the best responses I've seen to a MWAG call where the person(s) with the gun(s) were in the right.

Kudos to both Seatac Police and KCSO!

Wow, guess we missed all the fun.  Thought you guys were talking about the lady that was yelling a question at Dave about "taking someone down talking bad about Obama".....WTF was that all about?  I did think I got some good info to her about how the law really worked and how the 1st and 2nd amendments come into play.

As I was leaving, I saw two police cars in two different lots. One officer (a young guy with a tactical leg holster) approached me and said "hi, you guys just wrappin up?" I said "Yep" he then said "Well you guys don't look scary at all, but you know, we get the call with someone frantic on the other side, we've got to at least show up." I answered that I understood he was just doing his job and he replied "thank you" and started walking towards the party that was slowly wrapping up.

Part of it was likely that when he approached, I was putting my kids stroller in the trunk... and I'm pretty clean cut... what was it someone said??? "Friendly looking.";)

When the KCSO officer approached, he stated that they'd received a call about a bunch of violent peopl.e...I politely informed him that the only one that even came close to being "violent" was the woman that approached us & started (verbally) abusing us for having the audacity to carry our weapons out in the open.

he stated that they (the police jurisdictions) had all known about this event for qujite some time & no one had a problem with it in the least (as far as LE goes).  he mentioned that he recognized Deros & that he was going to inform the caller about the 2nd amendment..we wished him the best of luck & he cheerfully went on his way.

It may be splitting  hairs, but can you all stop saying "law enforcement didn't do anything".

They did do something, they did the RIGHT thing. They responded, saw there was no reason for alarm, advised the caller the facts of life, and didn't hassle anyone.

Good point.

Its all semantics in the end, but semantics count when it comes to verbalizing a habit of thought.

Your absolutely right, they did EXACTLY what they should have done, and I give them kudos for their professionalism.

Fair 'nuff.  They DID do the right thing, and kudos to them for doing it.  They responded, saw there was no crime in progress, and went on their way.  Just like it should be in EVERY instance where a person calls in MWAG on a OCer.

Saturday's get-together at Willow was my first OC event.  It was a great feeling to be surrounded by so many like minded individuals.  I learned a lot about the rules and regulations related to OC and will definitely be attending future events to promote the cause.

I plan to continue to bring my fiance' to future events and will make sure that she continues to OC as she knits. :)

I always found the best thing to do is to politely invite them to the next one..

'oh hey, we're probably gonna have another one here in about another month or so, everyone in the community is invited, we're gonna have a barbecue, drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.. it's all free, just come on by anytime!'

That puts them in a position to put up, shut up, or listen.

A lot of time, people want conflict. If you don't give it to them, they'll leave you be.

Wasn't as 'bad' as my last demo car...

(I renamed the company when I moved out here because there's already Pursuit Technologies in CA)

Lower profile is the way to go....

But this doesn't help any...

I'll have a new one saturday...

You gonna be there?

Doesn't say anywhere that it's a retired police car.  Used Impalas go for more than that.

Looks retail, but any Wimpala with 100K+ is asking for problems. As a fleet manager, I saw Wimpalas with 30K needing new engines, front brake pads lasting 10K miles, 20K between alternators, etc etc.

Now, for a civvy one, without the rigors of fleet service, it might be OK.. But I was never a fan of them (But to each his own ;) )
