That's it mekender, challenge my manhood. Why don't you triple dog dare me like dreamer.
It seems like to me an internet "forum" is the proper forum to dialogue about this type of stuff.
What would I sue for? I wasn't arrested/beaten/tased/pepper sprayed etc.

Kinda like "don't pick a fight with a bully". I'm not lookin to pick a fight or poke a dog. I just won't be attacked by either without defending myself.

On a seperate note, I think your case has an absurd twist. I read in the paper that you were released on the irrational and harmless misdemeanor charges with $20,000 bond.
The lady from Rockingham county who hit and killed the cyclist on Church street (you heard me, she KILLED another human being) and admitted to it walked out on $5,000 bond.
The difference, she didn't have an "assault rifle". What a friggin joke.........You have two cops thumbing through their little books because in their opinion you must have broken some law, and by gosh they are going to look until they find something to charge you with. Then they come to your home and arrest you (I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHAT IN THE HELL THE WARANT TO SEARCH YOUR HOME WAS FOR) and run you in on a BS charge. This lady killed another human being and fled the scene and pays 1/4 the bond.......WTF????
BTW, EVERY cop that came to your home that has children breaks that access to a minor law. They bring their service pistol home and put it on their nightstand or leave it in the holster hanging from their headboard. How is that any different? I will tell you how, because they think they are above the law, and looking for something BS to charge you with because your video embarassed them.

Was it the first 12 seconds the other officer told James Penn to 'put the camera up"? Isn't it getting to the point that only BS comes out of their mouths? were supposed to teach our kids to 'respect and trust ' these people?
How about some realistic training?

The law is pretty clear on safe storage, the weapon has to be in a condition where it can be fired AND the minor has to actually do something with it. I dont see this charge sticking.

Unless I read something wrong the police returned to the scene of the "gathering" and ascertained the identity of the original poster by questioning others that were still there. What I don't understand is why any of those folks would provide the police with any information identifying the gentleman. PLEASE remember you are NEVER legally obligated to talk with the police. You are never legally obligated to assist a law enforcement investigation in anyway. You can exercise your right to remain silent in all police interactions. They may threaten you with " invented on the spot charges" like impeding an official investigation or charges that don't apply like impeding an officer, or obstruction of justice. Don't be bullied by thugs with a badge, they are still just thugs and in most cases have a very poor understanding of the law. Recently I was approached while open carrying and threatened for "not cooperating" I laughed in the officer's face continued eating and ignored his questions. He strutted out to his car and sped off talking to himself like a mad man. You NEVER have to talk to the police read the 5Th amendment.
If they think this strategy is "not cooperating", wait till they see what will happen the next time an illegal gun confiscation like during Katrina is attempted. ROAD TRIP !

JSlack: Not entirely true.
Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial District Court of Nevada, 542 U.S. 177 (2004). States you only have to reveal your name. Not name and or address or DOB.

I’m not sure they did.

JSlack:
They (LEO), Will threaten you with “invented on the spot charges" like, “Disorderly Conduct or Inducing a panic”. Walking with your side arm on your side isn’t a RAS to detain you. It’s perfectly legal in most states.

JSlack:
This is not the statement of a LAC. This fellow should be tracked down and given a ticket to GitMo for a reunion with his friends. Gun Anti’s will try to stur up LAC with Bull Sheet. I do not endorse a armed conflict with LEO. Nor would anyone in their right mind.
If you do chose to open carry, remember a digital voice recorder is as important as bullets, your just defending against a different kind of criminal. There are far too many encounters with LEO to believe they are ignorant of the law. They chose not to enforce the law, but to make it up as they go. How they have any creditability in court is way beyond me.
