Wow.  Just wow.  Tim responded to a call I made for assistance after a parolee I was interviewing about another crime wanted to get stupid.  This was about 4 months ago...I noticed he had a daisy-fresh rookie with him at that time (tall guy in plainclothes).

All this not 8 blocks from where the shooting went down.

There is so much red tape in setting up an account for this.Business license, Tax ID Letter from the family etc.The only way we could do this is to collect donations at a central location Not a bank an individual etc. Then take take it to Spd or the family on behalf of OCDO.I have conferred with John pierce and he likes the idea and will but the info on a banner if its what we want to do.My daughter is GM for a major bank and she also told me because of the red tape it would be impossible in the time frame we are looking at.    I would be happy to collect donations and guard the fund and we could have one other maybe monitor.I have done similar in the past.Or simply send donations to the existing fund.I just thought it would be a great show of support by OCDO.

I don't have any problem with trusting the money with you Jim.

I'm in, but out of respect for others, I am not going to say for how much publicly, and I hope others wont feel the need to do so.

If I can get the time off, and if the funeral is open to the public, I plan on attending in my dress blues with combo cover.

Boo Boo, where did you get this info? I dont see it listed in the Key Arena event calender, and have yet to read it in any of the news blogs.

Have you seen anything where it will be open to the general public?

The reward for information leading to an arrest and charges is up to $60,000. The police tipline is 206-233-5000 or you can call Crime Stoppers at 206-343-2020.

The memorial service for Officer Brenton is scheduled for Friday, November 6 at 1 p.m. at the KeyArena.

A fund has been established for the family of Officer Brenton. Donations may be made at any Bank of America branch under the "Brenton Family Assistance Fund."

----------------------------

not sure but they usually allow the public to go grieve also, from all the memorials I've been too.
