I have a friend that has a chance to make a good deal on a S&W Sigma 9mm. Problem is the gun is in Oklahoma. Since this will be a private sale between two individuals can he buy the gun and just bring it back to Texas with him or does he need to ge FFL's involve to make the transfer?

If the seller is a resident in Oklahoma and the buyer is a resident of Texas, then the handgun must be transferred to the buyer only by an FFL in Texas.
Only one FFL, in the buyer's state, is required.

just an occasional note. Nothing planned at the moment as work has had me extremely busy (this is a good thing!) but I am always open to visitors or an excuse to go to the range! I have a couple of 'toys' that could use a good coat of lead dust and a 'deer rifle' that could use a bit of fine tuning!

| Yeah, thats about my attitude too. However, DFW to Aggieland is a ways to go for an afternoon of target practice. Not undoable but would have to be planned. Good to here about your work though wish mine was a little busier but o well at least I still have a job.
