Specifically in the Washington County area.
I know a place East of Estacada, but that's a damned long drive and I'm tired of it. Does anyone have a place to shoot out in the country in Washington County that they're actually willing to divulge?

| You can head out 26 to about mile marker 30. Turn left (south) and find a spot back on the logging roads. Pleanty of dirt pits, piles of gravel, etc to shoot in.

Probably the same place I go. It is about 45 minutes from the Tigard area, but well worth it to avoid the range cops.

| Define 'trouble'. It's national forest area. Just clean up after yourself and be responsible.

Excellent! Thank you very much for the info. Still a long drive but not nearly as long as the drive out past Estacada. That place is off Memaloose Rd, and the people who shoot up there are absolute slobs. Garbage everywhere, nobody picks up their casings, and there's gobs of stuff they bring up to shoot the hell out of and then leave it there. It sickens me.
How is the ground up at this place off 26? Dry? Rocky? Muddy?

Any place on 26 after you've hit National Forest land you can shoot. There are places up around Browns Camp, I go just a tad bit further and there are plenty of logging roads, just go up find a good area, shoot and clean up after you're finished...as for roads it's just dirt roads with all the rain I'd say muddy now...
Edit...opps my bad I ment to type highway 2, not 26, highway 2 runs through Tillamook State forest, plenty of places to shoot.

I looked at Google maps, and there are no national forests anywhere near Washington County. I see that 26 passes through Clatsop State Forest. Is that what you meant?
I asked about trouble wondering who owns the property and if it was lawful to shoot there, but I think I've answers my own question. Here is some info that I found from the Oregon Department of Forestry:

FOREST PARK AND RECREATION AREAS
629-025-0040 General Forest Recreation Rules
...
(9) Target Shooting.
(a) No person shall place targets on live trees or shoot live trees for any purpose.
(b) No person shall shoot across or along any road or trail.
(c) No person shall shoot carelessly, recklessly, or without regard for the safety of any person, or in a manner that endangers, or is likely to endanger, any person or property.
(d) Persons engaged in target shooting shall remove from State Forest land all shell casings, targets, and other debris resulting from their use.
(e) No person shall shoot targets other than those commercially manufactured for the specific purpose of target shooting, except for paper targets privately manufactured by the person or people engaging in target shooting.
(f) No person shall shoot glass of any kind as a target.
(g) No person shall shoot appliances, furniture or other debris determined to be garbage or refuse by an enforcing officer.
(h) Target shooting and other shooting related activity will be prohibited from one half hour after sunset to one half hour before sunrise.

The tillamook national forest is on hwy 26. Actually where i go shooting is on wolf creek road. Follow hwy 26 i think its mile 42. You will see the sign for wolf creek road, its on the right. logging roads, all gravel. plenty of places to shoot.
The point i was getting at is at the same place you turn onto the logging road. There is a big sign that says, Welcome to the tillamook national forest. It should say that on google maps as well.

When we come across places like that, we take a couple of large garbage bags with us and do our civic duty to pick up what we can.
These dumbos don't realize that alone can get the area shut down for shooting. 
We use a plastic tarp to catch our spent rounds, works real well.

We do the same. Leave it cleaner than when we got there. Although I do pick up my shotgun shells, I must admit I usually leave the brass.

| North Wolf Creek Road past the Timber Junction. There's a road up the second clearcut. Looks like a good place to shoot at the end of that road in the middle of the clearcut with good backstops and long ranges.
